Your Frank and I candle is completely natural and contains no artificial fragrances, dyes, preservatives or wax stabilisers. This is better for you & better for the planet. Because your candle contains no nasties, it does best with a little extra care.
1. TRIM YOUR WICK
Before each light, trim to 3–5 mm. This keeps the flame steady, prevents smoke, and helps avoid the little “mushroom” that can form on natural cotton wicks. (completely normal, by the way)!
2. LET IT MELT FULLY
On the first burn, allow the wax to melt right to the edges. (Check the vessel chart for first burn time to full surface melt) This helps your candle burn evenly and prevents tunnelling — a little patience here gives you a longer-lasting candle.
3. NATURAL WAX HAS CHARACTER
A bit of frosting, colour change, or texture on the surface is completely normal, it’s how pure soy wax behaves without synthetic additives. It doesn’t affect the scent or performance, it’s simply the mark of a natural, handmade candle.
4. BURN WITH BALANCE
Burn your candle for 2-5 hours at a time, and always make sure the melted wax reaches the edges before you blow it out. Avoid burning for more than 5 hours, your wick needs to reset between burns to perform beautifully. Keep away from drafts, and never leave a candle unattended. Extinguish when about 1cm of wax remains
5. REUSE YOUR VESSEL
Once your candle has finished ( about 1cm of wax remaining), simply warm by the base, to soften the wax, by sitting it in a shallow tub of hot water & clean out the remaining wax with a paper towel (be careful not to block your drains by pouring any wax down them). Repurpose your container with tealights, seeds, trinkets...it's too beautiful not to.

My ceramic & white glass candles & giftboxes are finished with hand dyed silk ribbons + dried flower bundles. The silk dye I make using avocado skins and rosemary stalks. The dried flower bundles are hand picked gatherings from many of my walks.
